From Judge Zaidan – He could not get his head around the fact that both defendants **worked in the equine sector** and had knowledge, saying that they “let the horse down badly”.
The judge imposed five-month custodial sentences for each of the three charges on both of the accused, with the sentences to run concurrently. He also ordered that they pay €1,028.59 to cover vet fees incurred by the ISPCA.
The Judge commented that horses feel the same pain as humans, but they do not express it orally, and that this horse “had no one to speak on its behalf”.
What is WRONG with people?
You can absolutely bet that if they have / will have a child, he / she wouldn’t prosper
I wish the blatant cruelty towards horses in this country was taken more seriously.
Left to starve in urban estates.
Discarded after they can no longer run fast enough to bet on.
Shipped off to Italy to be slaughtered.
Traumatised by being ridden into oncoming traffic in urban areas.
I doubt there’s a single more visible example of animal cruelty in this country that we all just ignore. Animal cruelty is not a culture, animal cruelty is not a sport.
Horse neglect is so common around here. In allenwood especially

Sadly this is one of the good outcomes, most animal cruelty of this level and worse is ignored or dealt with a slap on wrists.
I know that “businessman” got 12 years for dealing crystal meth but this is taking the piss.
Evil bastards, stick them in a field and starve them ….. absolute cunts.
Poor creature.
I’m glad they got a custodial sentence because so many vile animal abusers don’t, but I still wish it was longer. 5 months each isn’t enough in my opinion for putting that poor horse through hell.
The sad thing is, they’ll probably return to work in the equine industry afterwards too 💔
