      The ones I thought ought to be higher were Sweden and Denmark. Most people I interact with know the Norsk based languages + English and often German.

      Forcing everyone to learn french if he wants the Matura or Berufsmatura to be able to study but then complain about „Fachkräftemangel“ and hire people from european countries that only speak english & their native language and neither french or german.

      Makes sense right?

      I don’t think this is accurate description of real linguistic skills. It’s self-reported, so very subjective. People have different definitions of “speaking a language”, I’ve met many Swiss claim they speak English and then they substitute 80% of words with German, cause they lack vocabulary. In that sense, even my mom speak English, if speaking is reduced to ordering a coffee in that language.
