      Isn’t this 31% sales already baked in from before the Nazi shit?

      Some folk on r/evs_ireland are still buying them regardless but most have changed their mind based on recent events.

      They are a disgusting brand, anyone who owns one should scrap it. Imagine giving money to that utter scumbag. How Teslas ever gained popularity is beyond me.

      Musk will know he didn’t turn into that overnight (let’s be honest, it’s when he bought X that most people happened to cotton on to it)

      I hope the brand gets utterly destroyed along with Starlink and any other company he touches. Anyone who owns a Tesla is currently knowingly contributing to the success of a disgusting billionaire

      Tesla is a funny one with the monthly sales figures, they arrive in more of a batch fashion than other manufacturers and so you get these erratic big jumps and dips in their monthly registration figures.

      0.88% of all cars sold last year were from Tesla. That’s up to 1.14% so far this year.

      Given the lead times on RHD versions of these, many were likely ordered before most people realised what their CEO is really like.

      Neighbour bought one seconds hand a couple of years back, it’s a great car, actually convinced me to buy an EV (not Tesla). He’s got plenty of remarks now though, his brother in law calls it the swasticar!

      Ev sales across the board are up in Ireland, so it’s not like Tesla are wildly over performing the market here.

      There are 120,000 cars sold in Ireland each year. In January 2025, Tesla sold 143 cars here, or about 0.4% of all new cars sold that month.

      The Tesla numbers are so small to begin with that this is basically meaningless. The fluctations month by month over the last few years is basically statistical noise.

      Pretty sure Henry Ford was an antisemite. Never stopped people buying his cars. If the price is right and the car is reliable, have at it.

      My respect for Irish motorists has been somewhat tarnished as of late by the absolute 4×4 pickup tanks on the road, absolutely no need for them.

      It’s taxi’s partially. Taxi man explained to me recently that there’s a substantial grant offered by Gov to switch to electric. 20k I think. Lot’s of Tesla taxis as a result.

      The company i work for got one or 2 for people as company cars a few years ago. They said they were the cheapest. I wonder what percentage of these are work cars

      Got in a one being used as a Taxi.

      Didn’t much like it.

      Felt very stiff and not a pleasant place to sit and try not to get sick.

      Accidentally managed to open the door when trying to roll down the window.

      Heard a woman in a queue giving out about their Tesla to her mates. She started with an eye roll about Musk and then prefaced her complaints saying her husband got the Tesla through work. She then said it was like driving a fecking iPad and can’t get used to it. I suspect a good few of the Teslas are company cars or job “perks.”

      Audi owners were the most hated creatures in Ireland for decades.

      Then Tesla arrived. And brought with then swaztikars, bad charging stations and a snobbery you’d only have expected from your cat before now.
