      Only around 30 percent of Finns trust the US as allies, according to findings of a survey by rural-focused newspaper Maaseudun Tulevaisuus.

      Meanwhile, about 50 percent of respondents said they did not trust the US, while the remaining 20 percent were unsure.

      Female respondents were clearly more sceptical about the superpower than their male counterparts. Only 18 percent of women said they trusted the US and 58 percent said they did not. On the other hand, 41 percent of Finnish men trust the US and 43 percent do not.

      There were no major differences in poll responses from different age groups or regions in Finland.

      However, the poll revealed differences based on political party affiliation. Finns Party supporters were the most likely to trust the US at 56 percent, while 70 percent of Green Party and Left Alliance supporters did not trust their Nato ally in Washington.

      The poll was conducted between last Friday, 28 February and Tuesday, 4 March.

      Probably safe to say that the ~32% of Americans who voted against trump, and the ~38% who refuse to vote, or ~70% of Americans don’t trust “America” these days.

      It will be hard for anyone to trust the United States again unless they show some type of political stability for at least a decade or two. No one is going to trust the US again until this MAGA bullshit goes away and proves that it’s gone for good. A friendly Democrat could win in 2028 but there is no guarantee that another Trump doesn’t win again in 2032.

      Under the current leadership of USA, it’s more likely that they will be supporting Russia instead of us, if we are invaded.

      Starting trade wars, throwing Ukraine to the wolves of Kremlin and threatening Denmark with war are also deeds of an enemy, not an ally of Europe or Finland. So why the fuck we would thrust them?

      I will only ever trust the US to do the right thing after they have tried everything else and failed.

      As an ally they are untrustworthy.

      As a trading partner they are untrustworthy.

      In the future, they will always be untrustworthy. No matter what. The US has shown they can not be trusted. Even if they get a good government, the next one might be even worse.

      You wonder how the result is so low, but the Finns have excellent schools, so the remaining 50% put on the diplomatic jacket for tactical reason.
