      Is it only me when I hate how people call everybody Nazis these days. I would prefer them being called as fascist. Because Nazism is specific ideology made from fascism. I don’t think Musk and Trump are Nazis, they are fascist.

      I`m afraid it’s not just europe, they are puppets everywhere, what do you expect, they feel the urge to respond, to create campaign/show support to their people, but there is also the risk of getting played.

      Trump has a state visit soon. There is no other country that does gentle insults with comedy like the British.

      I’m actually looking forward to it, simply to see what British people do to protest him. I’m sure the big inflatable baby will be seen again.

      So… what does that say about the Ukraine and them having for example a statue of Bandera or considering him a hero? By that logic the Ukraine is undoubtably a Nazi country.

      I left over 4 years ago, and back then it was already a massive shitshow. I can’t even fathom what kind of hellhole twitter is nowdays..

      I think a pretty glaring weakness right now is how easy it is for US tech startups to receive funding. A good idea, connections, and a pitch over drinks gets you access to a line of credit larger than many established EU tech companies.

      This effort needs a war chest. I’d love to see a reputable establishment take this on; one where I’d feel comfortable sending funds. If ran correctly, I think you could even expand the options in your messaging.

      Give me a tech stack and app conversion website that shows me what to convert to, let’s me check off which items aren’t feasible at the moment, and gives a “cool, totally get it. contribute to this fund so we can build something that changes your mind.”

      That could be a really powerful lever, imo. Especially from non-EU sources looking to contribute to the effort.

      Everybody should. That engagement monetization is strong with that app tho. People are making money off of rage bait, conspiracy theories and disinformation. It’s the digital plague.

      Also, do you remember how the americans went all to the Chinese server Xiaohongshu when TikTok was banned? Well, us europeans should do the same with our apps, the important thing is the number and unity of European citizens. Let’s stick togheter

      Chinese should take this opportunity to push their influence over Europe. If they make Weibo more English speaker friendly, Europeans could start using it instead of Twitter, Facebook etc. Especially if we turn to trade deals with China.

      I deleted my X account some time ago. It was not good anyway since Musk took over and destroyed Twitter.

      As someone who would be a free speech advocate X has become a cesspit of ideas for for far right and propaganda tool by individuals who only wish to destroy the values of western society’s people who should delete there accounts

      Everyone should bluesky seems better for the moment, but a European option would be ideal (saying this as an American – do not trust the MAGAts we’ll be back to earn your trust if and when we finally deal with them here.

      I would love to move elsewhere but Mastadon is now cutting it so far.
