That request in itself is plausible. Landlord owns your apartment and wants to list it as collateral for a loan or similar at his bank. Bank needs to know the rough value, and sends their own people to asses.
If that number is definitely your landlord, and if the guy coming can identify as someone legit (not necessarily direct employee from the bank, stuff like this gets outsourced) – then you would do your landlord a favour in letting th guy in.
If you somehow are not available, he is not allowed to force you. Make a new apointment, or start a small scale war of denial… recommended against, though.

The request seems valid and they are giving you 14 days advance warning as well, which is in line with best practice. Any particular reason youre being paranoid?

    3. Ask your landlord to provide the name and company who’s supposed to visit. These are reasonable details to know if you’re supposed to let a stranger into your apartment.

In doubt, you can call up the company and verify the person has an appointment with you at the time.

Happened with me too a few years ago. My landlord asked that someone from the bank would visit the apartment and I was informed in advance. On that day, the bank guy came, he had a look at the apartment and left. End of story.

    5. How old is the building or when did your landlord buy the apartment? Usually half a year to one year after the purchase the bank where he loaned the money from has to make sure, that the apartment actually exists and has a value matching the loan. This is a standard process and I had these appointments both as a tenant but also for the apartments I bought. Usually they only need five minutes, nothing to worry about.
