    5. Gli animali non potevano parlare o parlare
    6. No Humans (95% sicuro)
    7. Non era una serie
    9. Non una compagnia Disney/Don Bluth/Altre mainstream
    10. Colori vibranti, ma gravi e scuri/intensi
    11. Nessun CGI
    12. Era come … rigido. Non abbastanza cornici. Ma non mi sentivo economico. Era esteticamente piacevole ma brutale.
    13. Nessun animale domestico
    14. Meno di un’ora. 40 minuti max.

    1. Upvoting for visibility cause I haven’t got the faintest idea what this is.

    2. You say you have the book.

Posting a pic of it would be helpful?

Are you sure it was an Italian production and not just dubbed?

It vaguely reminds me of those cartoons on VHS you get with Kinder-Ferrero snacks. During most of the 00’s, there was this brand that sold this kind of videotape inside a huge box of snacks (we call them “merendine”, little tarts or chocolate treats wrapped separately). In every cartoon there was always something about magic and protecting precious things from the villain. Google “Ferrero cartoons” and see if it’s something familiar

Google keeps telling me it’s The Animals of Farthing Woods (Le Avventure del Bosco Piccolo) but I’m pretty sure it’s not that. Awesome cartoon though.

      Try these three:

I Lunes e la sfera di Lasifer

      Aida degli alberi

I magotti e la pentola magica

I’ve watched every italian cartoon under the sun from the early 2000s and i haven’t got the slightest idea on how to help you. Some elements remind me of “the animals of farthing wood”,the weather powers you mention make me think of the “Lampaclima” and the trio of witches from “Winx”.

If/when you get your answer i’d be curious as well to know it,keep me informed

Wait, if the animals don’t talk and there were no humans, who was speaking in Italian? Like, a narrator?

Could it be a japanese production, just happening to be dubbed in italian?

Honestly, your description reminds me more of a Slavic cartoon style.

I don’t have an answer, BUT in these cases here’s always my advice.
There’s an italian facebook page called “mondo di Nerd” (the logo is a d20 shaped globe with MDN written on top of it), which has some kind of “ask the community” mechanism, you write the page a private message asking for a “kebab del dubbio” (I’m serious) in which you describe your memory of a piece of media that you can’t recollect and usually someone from the page remembers it.

Usually you’d go something like: “Hi, I have a kebab del dubbio that doesn’t let me sleep at night. I remember this thing that…”

It honestly sounds more like a soviet/eastern european thing, it could really be not originally italian as we literally dub everything. Also eastern europe used to make a ton of cartoons and animations and they were often dark and not directed to a public of children, while in Italy most of animation stuff is for children imo (at least the movies that are/were distributed in a mainstream way)
