Nothing like having the lowest bidder of a government contract be responsible for writing to children… What could wrong ?

So they want to reply to 55000 letters in about 50 days each year?

Could you not just make a very simple ai chat bot that does this ?

Hand write 55,000 names and addresses on envelopes. There are machines that can pretty much replicate handwriting. So why pay to have them handwritten?

Why do they have to be handwritten? Is Santa not allowed to use a computer?
Btw, we never got a letter back from Santa when I was a kid. We understood he was very busy and didn’t expect it. As long as brought the goods, that was enough!

Since when does Santa reply? I never got replies to my letters as a kid. I accepted that the big fella had enough on his plate at that time of year without having to reply to letters.

I’ll do it for a tenner and a book of stamps

They used to send out generic pre made Xmas cards with Santa got your letter etc etc. Why can’t they use them? It has to be cheaper

I’ll do it for 20k. Every child gets thumbs up 👍

Just a reminder that, last month, national stamps increased by 25c from €1.40 to €1.65.

I grew up in Canada and a family friend was a postal worker. I remember going to their house around Christmas time and helping to answer tons of Santa letters. I don’t know if it still works that way though.

My daughter sent a letter to ‘Santa’ this year with our address on it and the AN Post Santa sent a card back to our house addressed to my daughter. I thought it was very nice and good timing as she was recently questioning if Santa was real.
Back when I was younger this would have been a job for one of my parents friends or a family member who’s hand writing I wasn’t familiar with

Bit early for April fools, no? This is fuckin daft.

This could be sorted with maybe an hours code and a ChatGPT plugin?

Just have an AI do it

I’ll do you a better one. Let’s not put pressure on parents to give gifts then give all the praise to a fictional character. I think santa can exist but instead the narrative should be that your loved ones are the ones that give the gifts. Even if the magic elves “make” it. Santa can be the one to deliver them but parents need to be shown to have put in the order and give them to their kids so when times are hard they can say that we couldn’t put in the order this year. I would’ve loved my parents as much as a santa …

If only we had some sort of photographic copying technology that could perfectly reproduce handwriting in a way that kids wouldnt notice.
Ah the future will arrive someday

Would be a cool project to implement fully using AI.

I thought parents did this? Why are An Post replying to Santa letters? I’m not against it, it just seems weird
