Tuttavia non riesco a trovare alcuna informazione sulla città o nell’area di “Specien” che qualcuno potrebbe tradurre o forse aiutare a identificare dove potrebbe essere? Grazie.

Maybe provide context when that was? Austria changed quite a bit over the years.
It could now be in other countries. The surnames also do not sound “austrian” so maybe from the east?
Never heard about the place, either. More context needed.
For context: they were both born in the 1870s so this place could very well have been part of Austria -Hungary

Kutha sounds Czech to me, Paholsky could be polish, czech or slovak, all areas that mixed and mingled in the last decades,
Specien could be a latinized version of the places name, I cant think of any place in austria that would have that name today, it sounds like “species”. I can only think of one place with a similar name and it’s “La Spezia” southeast of Genoa in in Italy. More details are important as the borders changed a lot in europe over the past… well, ever.
Do you know by chance in which year they were born or when they immigrated to America? Since their surnames rather sound slavic (czech or slovak) they could either be German-Speaking people living outside modern day Austria borders, like Bratislava or Brno or they could be Non-German speaking natives.
I’m referring to pre WWI, when Austria-Hungary still existed. Since Czechia and some parts of Slovakia were part of the Austrian Realm, they could have identified as Austrian, even though they would be considered Czech or Slovak in today’s view.
Pezinok is a place in Slovakia close to Austria which could be “transcribed/translated” as Specien. It was part of Hungary back then but there were lots of German-Speaking people in cities like Bratislava, which is close to Pezinok.
Edit: Another guess would be Svetvinčenat in modern day Croatia. It can be written as “Specien” oder “Sankt Pecien”.
AI says to check out other names like “Spečany” (Pardubice), “Spešov” (Moravia) or “Specna” (Poland, but this is not really related to Austria). “Specien” might be the cause of emigration and writing down the birthplace by hearing it – which was often the case

I think that the Immigration Officer wrote what he understood. My guess is Schlesien – Silesia.
It’s different but at that time nobody would tell some immigration officer the town/village where they have been born, they told them the region.
The Surnames also would make sense.
