Along with various scandals, corruption and poverty being the tip of the iceberg, there was a train accident that killed 57 (117 with the vaporised bodies) on 28/02/2023.
Of course some days earlier the minister of transports was assuring everyone that all the public transportation is safe. No one has resigned since 2023. Instead their politicians are mocking the people.
People speak about cover up on what that train was carrying due to immediate violation of the accident scene and ask the Government to resign. An appearing goofy PM is interviewed everywhere and says this is a tool of other parties to throw this government. Evidence are appearing like a miracle on paid media and then on trash cans to clear the air. A judge’s son was found murdered…but the media say it’s suicide.
Police violence was really of the charts again…Provocateurs spotted destroying the peaceful gathering and the police denies everyone recording them, even threatens them with legal actions.
All the metro stations were closed by decision of the police and the drones were banned. Why do you think is that?
Major protests have been organised in other European cities. Greece is living its democratised dictatorship of the oligarchy group that benefits the wealthy (or the stupid)
The media is owned by the government and tried to minimize the effect of the protest. There was a voting to dispose the Government tonight by all the other parties. What do you think will happen?
I wonder does anyone in EU parliament discusses this? Or is everyone in favor of rightwing lowkey dictatorships these days?

Coming from a country with a similar problem, I’ve lost a lot of faith in peaceful protests achieving much against these levels of corruption. Unless someone betrays them, they can sit it out until people get tired.

Why is this hidden from mainstream media? Croatia here. We hear also about Serbian protests, but mainly because Serbian regime says that Croatian secret service employed students to overthrow government (funny tho, as if Croatia would have money or be capable or interested, also, they published random Cro students documents on state TV, guys who went to drink and have fun there – regime is nuts)
Good luck guys!

I just saw the talks of the leaders for the today’s distrust vote. As expected little mention of the trains. Reason of the protests are the financial struggle of people not the trains, no gives a shit about justice as evident of other incidents that got no reaction from the public in the past. The whole process is really a circus, all clues of the case process has been leaked in the public to influence public opinion.
The mob doesn’t care about what the justice system is gonna say. The ones protesting don’t ask for reforms that will ensure the public sector will work efficiently- they demand a guilotine and they are the very same people who voted against a deal with the EU during the 2015 bankruptcy. That’s what they won’t tell you.

Right around the time this was posted, we expected the people to have cleared somewhat as we drove around Syntagma Square. Even at 11PM there were more than enough people for the roads to be impassable, so after being stuck for a while all the cars turned around. Gotta admire the dedication, hope something good comes of it.
