▪️ Nate Vance served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 4 years. In March 2022, he traveled to Lviv to help;
▪️ There, he met a British volunteer who suggested Vance go to Donbas. He agreed and by June, he was already on the front lines;
▪️ “He was older than us. We went to the shooting range, he took an automatic rifle, set it 800 meters from the target. Everyone laughed at him. But when he hit the target 5 times in a row, the laughter stopped”;
▪️ “He’s an excellent fighter with a cool-headed demeanor—15 times we should have died, 15 times we managed to survive,” says Serhiy Filimonov;
▪️ In January 2025, the fighter left the service but wants to continue helping Ukraine. He says J.D. Vance never tried to learn about his experiences on the front lines;
▪️ “J.D. Vance is a good person, smart. When he criticized aid to Ukraine, I thought it was part of the political game”;
▪️ “But what they did to Zelensky was an ambush with absolute malice. Just because we’re relatives doesn’t mean I’ll accept you aiding in the killing of my comrades,” says Nate Vance.

If anyone in the Ukranian media is reading this: make this fucking guy the face of the foreign legion and Ukraines struggle. I know it doesnt make a whole lot of sense for Ukraine to make an American the face of why you’re fighting, but this is the definition of Golden Goose that needs to be taken advantage of.
