    1. After violating the human rights and freedoms of hundreds of millions to billions of people, populists and autocrats get a rare taste of their own medicine. Oh the sweet karma.

They are publicly instigating at violence. Potra (who has a small mercenary business) literally called his troops to come out with weapons and guns. Potra is friends with Georgescu and is Dubai at the moment. They found guns and considerable amounts of cash and gold at his home. Connections with Russia also there.

I am not the one to consider conspiracies and stuff easily, but this seems like a coup attempt.

Not great, i understand concerns about electing bad actor like Russian puppet, but what Romania now is doing is just alienating not only their own people but any kind of support there is elsewhere. They need clear and perfect message of evidence to disqualify him, haven’t seen such yet.

If your platform for a democratic election is treason, expect to get fucked.

What a peaceful person… No wonder he is banned from running in elections.

Wait till Vance comes to his defense.

Ah yes, because when your political arguments are as hollow as a broken drum, the next logical step is to incite medieval torture. Nothing says ‘fit to lead a modern nation’ like calling for public flaying. Bravo, George Simion; trading policy for pitchforks is a bold move. What’s next? Trial by combat?

Just listen to the language these people use and you know who you are dealing with. Total degenerate Nazis

    8. They are Traitors and Terrorists and foreign agents and nothing else..

He should move to amerika. Do the nazi salute a few times, say something sexual and sexist about 9 year olds, and pose next to an assault rifle. He’d get a cab position in days

If you’re calling for people to be skinned alive then maybe stay out of politics and government. You need to grow up first.

I got a warning from reddit for saying that state authorities in my country should enforce the law and disperse extremists with water cannons and tear gas.

      Good job Reddit, good job…

    14. I guess the coup plot was being developed for this eventuality?

Before it is too late, EU should introduce laws against ANY foreign (outside of EU) support for political parties. And in case such laws already exist, ensure that they are enforced to the full extend of the law. Anyone implicated in receiving money from outside of EU should be banned from politics. Permanently. Not just a person, but the whole party this person belongs too.

It’s a good first step, but the Beer Hall Putsch and January 6th in Washington show what happens if you fail to prosecute these people, or give them a slap on the wrist.

He needs to be prosecuted, and if found to have been working to undermine democracy and/or to have been working with Russia, he should spend the rest of his life in prison. That needs to be the standard for fascists and treasonous Quislings, or it makes the collapse of democracy inevitable.

If I call for violence against nazis I get banned on Reddit.

What should we do to someone who calls for violence towards judges?

    18. And this is after the authorities managed to catch some of their supporters who were stashing money and weapons in the past weeks.

If they were free and armed , this could have ended in bloodshed. This is what Putin parties aim to accomplish.

    19. Publicly calling for judges to be skinned alive should be enough for an arrest warrant, right?

May Ι ask Romanians : Ι’ve read some Greek articles but they are not very clear.
I’d be grateful for any link explaining the situation. ( I will translate it)

What are Georgesku’s policies and why he’s so popular?

And this guy Simion, why he’s supporting Georgesku?
Aren’t they from different political parties?

(Sorry if I made stupid questions but there aren’t many Greek sources available)

    21. nariofthewind on

These rioters are pro Russian, btw, not pro european. Will Romania become the next Serbia or Hungary?

    22. Azula-the-firelord on

Simion is yelling for a nice and cozy mattress in a prison

    23. LetsLoop4Ever on

Wtf. Threatening of skinning someone, anyone, should at least be like, you know; sent back to Russia

    24. Throw them in prison and lose the keys. Nothing of substance will be lost.

    25. Russia’s puppet 🤡 .
Romanians now what Russia stands for, misery.

    26. notthatevilsalad on

Same in Bulgaria, the far-right douche said that the fate of the “anti-Bulgarian elite” (aka pro-Europe people) will be the same as in 1944 (aka round up and shot publicly)

    27. SpiderMurphy on

He is threatening judges with violence. Please let the law run its course, Romania, and lock him up!

    28. eggnogui on

Might as well ban this shithead from the elections too while the judges are at it.

    29. The love of democracy from the far-right is always skin deep, eh ?
