Fuck around find out
Hot take (apparently): I think laws should apply to even the leaders of far-right populist parties
Lol. I mean, that’s all well and good, it’s just that these Russian bitches are probably very surprised that Europe is stopping passively ignoring their behavior.
The far-right cleansing has started.
Long live Romania’s European path!
Good for them wish my country could follow the example
After 3 hard months we see some light in Romania
Democracy never stronger.
Great example for the rest of the world! Don’t let them abuse the freedom we give them!
This ruzzian shill was inciting his useful idiots to rebel and skin people alive. He should be prosecuted with extreme prejudice and sent to do some jail time. Unfortunately, he will get away with a slap on the wrist.
All the ruzzians shills in Europe must be dealt with in a similar manner before they set Europe on fire.
Could he be also banned from running because of that?
good, romania is tired of these lunatics
good, jail that simian 😀
In recent days, Romania has been gripped by political unrest following the Electoral Committee’s decision to bar far-right candidate Călin Georgescu from the upcoming presidential election. This move has ignited violent protests in Bucharest, leading to a complex and tense situation.
Călin Georgescu, known for his pro-Russian stance, unexpectedly led the first round of the annulled 2024 presidential election. Allegations of Russian interference and electoral irregularities prompted the Constitutional Court to annul the election results, citing concerns over national security. Subsequently, prosecutors launched a criminal investigation against Georgescu, accusing him of supporting fascist groups, incitement against the constitutional order, and false declarations regarding campaign financing.
The Electoral Committee’s recent decision to reject Georgescu’s candidacy for the rescheduled May 2025 election has been met with significant backlash. Supporters of Georgescu, led by George Simion, leader of the far-right Alliance for the Unity of Romanians (AUR), took to the streets of Bucharest. The protests escalated into clashes with law enforcement, resulting in injuries and arrests.
George Simion has been vocal in his opposition to the Electoral Committee’s decision, labelling it a continuation of what he describes as a “coup d’état.” He has called for the resignation of Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, accusing the government of undermining democracy.
The situation remains volatile, with the international community closely monitoring developments. The upcoming election, scheduled for May 4, 2025, is set against a backdrop of political tension and public discontent, raising concerns about Romania’s democratic processes and stability.
we must address the russian elephant in the room. why so many people vote for this shit? how can we help people not be manipulated and be better informed? how can we protect our democracies and make sure what happen in romania doesn’t happen again?
We got 6 Jan at home:
We are now in the timeline where Romania has a stronger judiciary than the United States.
As non Romanian resident, I support this.
Well done Romania!!
No skin off my nose
Though I think it was the right call, I can guarantee this will blow up majorly in everyone’s face sometime down the line.
Do not tolerate the intolerant
Americans, are you taking notes?
i can already feel like elon will make a tweet about this crying that isn’t democracy or something
Go Romania!
Good. Don’t cower, crack down the Russian puppets before you end up like Hungary!
There needs to be a pan European purge of these parasites before they cause any real damage.
Based
What were his crimes?
“European Democracy”🙃
Simion posted a video last night saying that the people responsible for blocking Georgescu’s candidacy should be “jupuiți” which roughly translates to skinned alive/flaying.
The National Audiovisual council ordered the clip to be removed from all social media sites this morning, and now they are doing a criminal investigation. Just so you guys have more information on the reasoning behind this.
P.s. I should hope it self-evident that I fully support the prosecution of Simion. Nothing and I mean nothing ever justifies calling for violence against another human being.
As I said in another post about Romania – they are once again setting the example of how to deal with dangerous people. Meanwhile in Bulgaria our far-right (of course pro-putin) party is doing whatever they want and not criminal prosecution is upon them yet.
Good job, Romania. Proud of you 🇧🇬🇷🇴🇪🇺
If only we would hold some of the far-right accountable in the US.
What happened at the protest: https://youtu.be/Voh0sm8wnEY?t=306
If more countries treated these far right politicians like that, Europe would have been much better. Especially in Eastern Europe the far right are much more outrages.
Sadly we have give full free speech rights to people who would literally silence the free speech of 90% of the population if they take the power. This is the problem with democracy.
More power to Romania.
It’s sad that only Romania has balls to get rid of Russian assets from its politics.
I wonder how long until the Pro-Russian / MAGA lot start spamming here this thread regarding how we in the EU “hate free speech because we prosecute people who incite violence.”
