A volte vedo queste targhe quadrate in Lussemburgo su alcune auto. Mi chiedevo perché fossero diversi? Puoi scegliere tra questi e quelli “normali”? In tal caso, come?
Pretty sure it’s because some cars have different slots in the bumper so on some cars you might want a square one.
iirc you can just choose the format when getting your plates done. (Though there might be a form to fill out too, but I’m not sure because I haven’t gone through the process myself.)

As far as I know, a bunch of American imports have the typical square form like the one pictured. Most EU vehicles have the longer, rectangular form.
You can go to an authorized license plate shop and they’ll make you one to your specifications. Just bring your car paperwork.
