Security assistance and intelligence sharing are much appreciated if this bipolar US government keep their word. I don’t trust the US or Russia to uphold any agreements. I’ll believe it when I see it.

    2. Valentiaga_97 on

Whatever Merica says it will do, UA needs anything from missiles to HIMARS , ammo and , I know it wont happen, punish RuzZia, when they break the ceasefire

    3. Fancy_Load5502 on

This is good news, but everyone should be prepared to accept Russia won’t be leaving the areas they currently control – not during the cease fire, and not during any lasting peace.

    4. RepresentativeSky22 on

If there ever will be a ceasefire Russia will break it 100% and blame Ukraine. And if that happens who does USA side with?… fuck Russia, fuck Trump and all his followera

    5. trhaynes on

In how many different ways can this fall apart due to Russian non-compliance, but still have the USA blame Ukraine?

      “You didn’t thank Russia!”
“You didn’t wear a suit when you thanked Russia!”
“You didn’t wear a Russian suit when you thanked Russia!”
“You didn’t wear a Russian suit when you thanked America!”

    6. Russia will not accept this, they have their claws deep in Kursk offensive and Pokrovsk

    7. 10mmamberalert on

Russia will use this time to strengthen and resupply the front! If they even adhere to it.

    8. wolfhound_doge on

so a 30 days breather for orks in kurschina, where they’re attempting to encircle ZSU and around Pokrovsk and in Toretsk, where they being fucked.

    9. netsrak33 on

ruZZia will break it on the first day. Trump, Vance and Musk will blame it on Ukrainians.

    10. Russia: Oh sorry. We were having a training exercise and they got confused and assaulted an entire city and bombed another. Accident. Really. You can’t retaliate because it’s a cease fire!

    11. I don’t hold my breath.

I’d not be surprised if Russia makes some demands, USA says Ukraine have to accept and it’s off the table again.

    12. mookiewilson369 on

Am I wrong that the Russian soldiers need the cease fire more than the Ukrainian soldiers? How much longer can Russia sustain the amount of casualties they are taking and Ukraine appears to be on the offensive and has Russia by the throat. Maybe my perception of this war is way off.

    13. Luv2022Understanding on

I bet Yermak walked around the table to the other side and told each of the uZa team to look him in the eye and state their position on the discussions.

    14. Gaming_Nomad on

So, what punitive actions will the US take against Russia if it doesn’t agree to the ceasefire?

In this Redditor’s opinion, the US should resume aid as soon as possible and then redouble it if the Russians refuse the ceasefire.

    15. Hartvigson on

I don’t think it will benefit Ukraine. Russia will regain strength and it will be much harder to fight them in a month.

    16. ReysonBran on

Damn, Trump taking L’s all day every day.

I guess he got tired of winning. 🤷‍♂️

    17. njsullyalex on

I personally don’t think there should be a ceasefire. Don’t give Russia an opportunity to re-group. We should have never stopped intelligence sharing in the first place.

    18. Alexandratta on

      How this will Go:

Trump: “finally! A Ceasefire! Was that so hard?”

      Zelenskyy: “Wait for it….”

*Moron Russian troops with 0 comms and -5 logistics break Ceasefire*

      Trump: “…wtf-”

Zelenskyy: “That’s what I’ve been saying, welcome to Ruzzia, Mr. President.”

    19. kemistrythecat on

Great political move from Ukraine, it shows they are willing to want peace.

Of course I fully expect Russia to honour it to play geo politics. However, I think in the long term this is just a very tiny step in a thousand mile journey.

    20. ggRavingGamer on

I wonder what Trump will do when Putin says “No thank you”. He will have 2 choices, either accept how ridiculous he looks for pushing Ukraine and forcing Zelensky in a ceasefire that was never going to happen after having told the world that Ukraine is the problem and arm Ukraine to the teeth including throwing the kitchen sink with Tomahawks, f16s, f35s and whatever OR, just keep pressuring Ukraine to capitulate. Probably the second thing.

Or Russia accepts and rearms, strokes Trump’s ego, Trump stops assistance again, and the dance begins again 1 year from now.

    21. guidedhand on

It sounds like pretty good news. They didn’t sign any stupid minerals deal and they resumed military and intelligence support and it’s a deal that Russia weren’t agree to. So they got all good things out of it and probably don’t have to give anything up

    22. ggRavingGamer on

Frankly I hope this is something the EU leaders told him to do.

Accept whatever the Americans say, say yes and give us time to rearm, to restart our defense industries and make America less important in all this process.

I really hope this is just a strategy to resume American military aid, so Europeans have enough time to catch up and take up the load.

    23. Confident_Fudge2984 on

Getting Russia to accept is going to be hilarious

    24. AlexFromOgish on

Ukraine and Russia will both give lip service to accepting it and whatever happens Trump will blame Ukraine for breaking it

    25. danzymackanzy on

What’s the catch hough? What did Ukraine promise and to what deal have they agreed to.

    26. true-skeptic on

Simply cannot believe Zelensky would trust the orange Oompa Loompa.

    27. Putin can try sell this war to his people as won, but the z radicals will go berserk and say they were fooled. Prigozhin on steroids scenario.

    28. MourningRIF on

Why do we need intelligence if there is a ceasefire? 🤔

    29. EfficientYam5796 on

You either want a ceasefire or you want war. There are only those two options right now. Anyone who says they won’t accept a ceasefire wants war.

    30. darth_butcher on

      Smart move by Ukraine.

Now Trump and J.D. Vance are about to witness if and how long Putin will abide to a ceasefire deal.

In this way, Zelensky’s arguments for Putin’s breaking of the previous ceasefire agreements will gain in value.

    31. _Faucheuse_ on

Until it’s not good for the President in queef. Take it, but don’t trust it. Our leadership is wildly untrustworthy.

    32. I hope this isn’t a trap where russia stages a false flag during the ceasefire resulting in the us dropping support for Ukraine.

    33. Adventurer_D on

Saying the “ball is now in Russia’s court” is the same as saying “I haven’t been paying attention for 11 years”

    34. AnonVinky on

While France and the UK are discussing which Russian targets to strike if a ceasefire is broken…

One reasonable best case scenario that might happen:

      1. Putin agrees to ceasefire.
      2. A wild EU no fly zone appears and thousands of European soldiers land before the ink is dry.
      3. All the “Part of a ceasefire” promises are live.
      4. Ukraine declines to extend the ceasefire after 30 days, EU forces don’t leave either…
