The German invasions and Anschluss sought to unify Europe through force, repression, and war, leaving devastation and resentment in their wake. In contrast, the European Union has achieved integration through voluntary cooperation and shared prosperity. Cherish it.

Hitler gave a public day off and workers were forced to go to the parade, they brought in a lot of pro-Nazi Germans to attend the parade – the day after the annexation there was a horrific purge of Jews, they were beaten and killed – there was significant nazi support in Austria but these images are propaganda, it was still a hostile takeover.
