But the United States shouldn’t have let that happen. We had stupid leaders, we had leaders who didn’t have a clue.

If only he had been in charge previously, this wouldn’t ever have continued so long…….

“Mr Trump also said Apple had been “treated very badly”, referring to an EU court ordering the company to pay back taxes in Ireland.

Mr Martin interjected to say “we fought with them” on the EU case.

“It’s the European Union, isn’t it? The European Union is going after our companies,” Mr Trump said when asked if Apple should relocate from Dublin back to the US.”

‘kin hell. I know Martin is not telling lies here and trying to lick the boot in our interest, but this reads as undermining our European allies, and with how things are going I know who I would rather stand with.

You have to be very naive not to see this to be honest. Donald knows “we don’t have the cards”.

To be quite honest, that all went about as well as it could have all things considered.

Such an absolute moron. American capitalists took advantage of Ireland evolving into a complete tax haven and Cayman Islands of the West. It’s the exact inverse of what he’s saying.

I’m currently reading Fintan O’Toole’s “We Don’t Know Ourselves” (must read snapshot of how contemporary Ireland came to be, imo) and there’s a few chapters that go deep into that very lopsided relationship between Ireland and the US tech giants that contribute very little investment into the country.

He details how essentially the Fianna Fail and Fine Gael governments artificially inflated economic numbers to make it seem as if the entry of these tech companies into Ireland was boosting the country’s economic prospects and passing their insane profits into the betterment of Irish cities. It was a total facade.

Meehawl was deftly juggling chainsaws as he slowly walked the tightrope over a pit of alligators. The Irish press core sensing he had found some purchase, started throwing rocks … GAZA, APPLE, EU TARIFFS, HE SAID YOUR MA SMELLS ODD… Meehawl used the technique of the spineless octopus and fastened his tentacles of charm to the Mighty Trumps chest.
