The original GLSDBs were a bit of a disappointment, as despite their longer range they proved to be susceptible to Russian GPS jamming.

There has been a programme running to deliver better shielded and more resilient GPS systems on the bombs, and they are now apparently ready for delivery.

would think INS with locked coords is the way to go, don’t know if gps is the only option on these things. I suppose precision would not be as good though

    3. Russian electronic warfare proved to be one of the strongest aspects of their forces that was initially underestimated. This kind of intelligence is gold dust to the U.S and Western partners. Russia had to show its hand and there is a great deal more known because of Ukraine’s resilience these last few years.

GLSDB was found to be inadequately shielded from Russian EW and the guidance was affected quite badly. Saab and Boeing went away, redesigned internal parts of the guidance and have run many more tests. Hopefully it is much more effective on the battlefield. If that proves to be the case similar measures can be integrated on other systems that have had issues, like the Excalibur precision artillery shells.

You only really find this out when the rubber meets the road.

Sounds like Uncle Lockheed had a heated discussion with the russian puppet.

    5. I hope they make a difference for them. Anything that can counter Russian aggressive is good news. Dependability of the issue. Donald can not be trusted.
