On the European level there are in my opinion two big vulnerabilities we have. One being militarily dependent on the USA, the other being energy dependent on other countries. The more we aim to be independent, the more we can uphold our way of living.

Exactly well said. It was America that started the drive for globalization because their compaies wanted bigger market because internal the markets were saturated. Now after all these years they going back to create a saturated market for their companies trump is a verg smart guy! We gave the US military industry hundreds of billions because buying US weapons came with credible security guarantees. Time to invest all that money into the EU economy
