I get the opposite… no matter which language I go for they spot my accent and switch to English 🙁
I did have a trip to ikea where I needed help from customer service, I started in french, but it veered into completely unknown territory so I asked if she spoke English. We solved everything and I said thanks, she apologised for her English. I said that it was great and way better than my French. She said “yeah, but English isn’t your first language either” 🙁
