Where are the protests for the people of Turkey
Once again, I told you so. Never forget how the Western media lapped up Erdogan’s survival of the coup as a good thing for democracy, supported him through it, before he dismantled the independence of the military command structure.
Turkey had a weird way of doing things but everyone made the arrogant mistake of holding it to Western standards and didn’t appreciate that the military coups, as unfortunate as they were, as a necessary part of maintaining the integrity of democracy. They were the last bastion of freedom in Turkey, and everybody celebrated it being neutered.
Now watch as there’s a wave of people insulting Turks over Erdogan’s barbarism, as if this wasn’t exactly what they supported when they ignored what Turks were trying to tell them.
It’s funny how now European politicians leaders are looking to Turkey for protection. When will Europe rely on it’s own capabilities instead of looking at unreliable allies
