Following İmamoğlu’s detention, the CHP leadership announced that they would resist not only in Istanbul but also in Ankara, staging protests in Parliament. It was reported that the party’s Ankara Provincial Organization would gather in front of the CHP headquarters at 2:00 PM. All provincial and local branches called members to local offices for countrywide protests.

My thoughts are with you. I had seen in shock the 2016 coup. It’s so sad

Godspeed Turkey! you belong in the EU, but Erdogan and his cronies do not.

I hope justice will prevail. This is one of the most disgusting things I’ve seen in the last couple of weeks. And that’s saying a lot!

Is social media still running so people can organise? Is there any chance of infighting within the AKP that would weaken Erdoğans grip? I remember that at some point there was a division within his party 1-2 years ago.

I hate what Erdogan has done to Turkey. So much potential and a beautiful country with nice people showing great hospitality. I really hope you get rid of Erdogan and we see a future where Turkey is democratic with closer ties to EU.

    7. 2025 in Wikipedia will be remembered as:

      “Year of the dictatorship.”

Russia, China, North Korea, USA, Turkey, Israel, …

I think India, Belarus, Hungary, Serbia will be heading that way too (or they are already there), if I’m not wrong.

Also, it is said Imamoglu is not given his medicine.

These headlines are becoming less shocking day by day. Hopefully the people of Turkey find a way to remove Erdogan. His reign and dismantling of the country throughout his time as leader has turned Turkey into a shell of its former self.

Ugh, can we just get a break for once?

Trump, Putin, Netanyahu, Orban, Serbia and now Erdogan again?

It’s now or never Turks. Do you want an Ataturk style secular republic or an Erdogan style dictatorship? Because one of these will require action from you *right now* if you want it.

we need to get more people look at Serbia.. There are tons of people despite having low population… We have to get at least 20-30 millions so that he will resign or I don’t know the military and the police can’t do anything against 20-30 millions

The main issue is.. They sent a clear message in 2013.. People got punished in a hard way who protested our shitty government, some of them ended up in jail for at least 20 years.. They put a law and use this against you.. You are hopeless.. Judges and district attorney belong to him.. Police and the military as well.. What are u supposed to do? They freeze your account, get your money put you in jail for 20 years… Tell me.. It’s not Serbia guys even tho they are not an EU member still.. It’s different.. We literally live in a totalitarian way..

The book “1984” by George Orwell, which I just read, perfectly describes the situation in Turkey
