      Justice for İmamoğlu

NEVER support Erdoğan, even if he “supports” Ukraine

All the citizens of Europe need to see that a fully authoritarian dictatorship next door, with high trade relations with Europe, will not only affect Türkiye but also Europe. A destabilized Türkiye is only beneficial for Russian and Israeli efforts – an entire front in the East will collapse. A non-secular, fully Islamist Türkiye means higher refugee numbers, higher immigration, etc. and further destabilization in Europe. Therefore, it is very important for the new European front not to recognize Erdoğan as an political actor further.

Slogans don’t take down dictators. Autocrats value their power more than anything in this world. Erdo will not hesitate a second if he has to physically eliminate all dissidents. This pattern persists through centuries and nations and never changes as long as humans are humans.

EU supported Erdoğan as their “liberal”muslim friend for years when Erdogan was destroying what’s stopping him: secular institutions and the army. He purged the army slowly and Europe supported him because they can’t possibly understand that different countries works differently.

If you destroy secular side because you think they’re Kemalists and they’re antidemocratic what you’ll get will be Erdogan. If Europe just respected how the Turkish Republic works, these things we live in right now wouldn’t happen.

Yeah. I feel like Erdogan really overplayed his hand this time. So far his strategy worked, because he pushed things little by little, increasing his authority at the same rate. Now, he has played a big gamble, and it might not pay off for him.

Finally, this took long enough. We are rooting for you, Turkey. Down with Erdogan!
