      > A 21-year-old Colombian man residing in Swieqi has pleaded guilty to stealing €200 worth of groceries from a supermarket.
      The prosecution, led by Inspector Johnatan Cassar, charged him with theft and with causing minor injuries to a police officer during his arrest. Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit ordered his deportation and imposed a fine of €1,200, along with a €200 reimbursement for the stolen items.

      > However, the accused stated that he lacked the funds to pay and needed assistance from his family but had no mobile phone to contact them. The court accepted the prosecution’s request to facilitate communication with his relatives. If he fails to settle the amount by next Monday, he will face imprisonment.
