Anyone feel there is horse trading going on in the background to keep him out of jail? I never knew the father relied on him so much, considering he works off farm, has training and all that voluntary work he heavily relied on during his previous court case as why he is a decent lad

    2. Donegal92-12 on

Fuck sake. The thinking here is don’t put him in jail because his brothers are already in jail. Cunts like this need to learn the hard way.

    3. isogaymer on

If it isn’t, legitimately why should anyone follow the law? This man is a violent thug, and yet enjoys grace and favour from our justice system?

    4. ProfessionalPeanut83 on

What a lovely family that is with 3 brothers all in jail

    5. SugarInvestigator on

His barrister said “yeah he broke the law while on a suspended sentence butbits nit like it was a violent crime. Normal people don’t think a driving offence is a criminal conviction” or something such shite

    6. dubguy37 on

Lock up the scumbag. He thinks he is above the law at this stage . Didn’t heade a warning given by the judge and then to be clocked on the opposite side of the road at 155km is beyond reckless.

    7. DeathDefyingCrab on

I would be surprised if he goes to jail. The idea of a suspended sentence is that if you commit a crime you’re meant to go to jail. In this case, the judge will look at him and say “now, you will be a good lad, won’t you?” and he’ll be let go to do more crime.

    8. denbo786 on

They don’t need to worry about the farm. Sure, the community will rally round and help out. /s

    9. VanWilder91 on

Well all know this fucking scumbag won’t be going to jail. Judges in this country are a disgrace and answer to nobody when they fail to hand out appropriate sentences.

Ha ha jail? He won’t see the inside of a jail cell in a million years. JP will have a word with the judge that we need him for Limerick to win again this year. It’s just disgusting how so many people will still defend this piece of sh!t thug and that manager giving him a reference was a serious lapse in judgement from him. He plays an unpaid amateur sport and Kiely was up there extolling his virtues like he was one of the finest rugby legends the country has ever seen. And shame on JP Mcmanus for being as quiet as a church mouse over this whole affair. I know he can’t interfere with courts but he has a huge position of influence and even a brief statement of “thuggery has no place in our national sport, it’s a terrible example to set for the next generation”… that’s all it would take for Hayes to be history. But he didn’t say a word.

You can be guaranteed if it were Kielys son who got beaten up in that nightclub he would do everything in his power to destroy that cnut Hayes life.

      Lads. Forget it

Lad is not going to jail

      Will not be happening….

Nuts but GAA has some pull in this country

    13. Salt_Caterpillar6125 on

Another one who keeps getting away with shit. If we had dealt with his type and mc Gregor it would send a message that their behaviour is not going to cut it.

The father : “run their family dairy farm”

      BOOOOOLLLLLOOXXXXXXXXX

    15. Ambitious_Bill_7991 on

Let him hire someone if he needs help, and if he can’t afford it let him sell some land or stock.

He raised his sons to be entitled thugs.

KH was given a chance, and again showed absolute disregard for the law and other people’s safety. Time to spend some time with his brothers.

    16. slamjam25 on

Remember, any time someone says that suspended sentences are a real sanction because “put a toe out of line and they’ll be automatically activated” they’re fucking lying to you.

    17. BazingaQQ on

Doesn’t say much for Da’s patenting skills if three of his offspring are in jail – and all as the result of vicious assaults.

You’d think having two brothers in jail would be a warning. That getting a suspended would be a second warning. That telling the judge that it was only ‘careless’ driving would he a third – how many chances does this guy want…? If he gets away with this, he’ll be back before the court on another charge in a year or two, might as well have someone’s well-being now.

    18. LaBete1984 on

If he was going to jail, he’d have been told today, it’s a cut and dry issue.

Only logic behind needing more time is to find the reason to keep him out.

    19. No_Distribution4176 on

How is Kyle Hayes father a dairy farmer when they are literally travellers/ council house residents..? I’m from a farm myself and no way is he farming stock, him and his family are dog rough

    20. Outside_Objective183 on

      One of two things will happen;

      A) Hayes gets off completely. No jail time.

      B) The judge gives him a tiny sentence like 30 days, says he’s compelled to sentence him to jail, but hugely minimizes it.

    21. galley25 on

I’ve just read about a political family in the midlands who were running a pub without a licence, solicitor daughter struck off for embezzling clients funds, then employed in the civil service until somebody reported it. Father a Td who had huge bank debts written off thanks to intervention by Taoiseach at the time. Son- in- law found legless, slumped over the wheel of his car. Not a day in jail for any of them.

    22. farlurker on

The only people punished in this country it seems are the victims.

    23. pineapplezzs on

A neighbour of mine. Horrible person, numerous convictions was arrested and got let off because his elderly mother depends on him. They left out the part that the elderly mother has another son and daughter who avoid the house because the man is so awful. Two very decent people who would absolutely look after her . The other son would actually move home. The mother does excuse the sons behaviour which makes it even harder for them

He also threatened the guards and knew one of their home addresses . Said he’d show up there. Why bother

    24. Why is there even a 1% chance that it *won’t* be activated ?
