We need a better system. These private insurance companies and their predatory bullshit need to go…

      >__The chronically ill and elderly are severely affected:__ Visits to the doctor and medication are not luxury items that you can afford when you need them. Those who choose a low deductible are often chronically ill. Older people also need to see doctors more often. They are therefore particularly affected by the increase, even though they are often those with small budgets.

      >Conversely, an increase in the deductible could even lead to higher general costs, as people fall into poverty or get into debt.

I have a rare genetical chronic illness myself, which is only covered by basic care if you find out before you turn 21.

I was 30 when we diagnosed it with a genetic test. But I now earn enough to cover it well. Depending on the year, it costs between 5,000 and 38,000, depending on the recurring tests/medis (shortage), etc.

Here again the wrong approach is being taken.

There is no national prevention concept for progressive diseases, it’s just treating the condition now and that’s it, which I think is a shame.

You are directly excluded from supplementary insurance anyway, no chance as a chronically ill person.

Increasing the Franchise is the wrongest thing they could do.

Just shitting on the chronically ill.
      Good job.
      Reform the system.
Health has nothing to do with “Eigenverantwortung”
Nobody can choose to not get sick.

    6. Well, they can’t make the packaging smaller to fake low inflation numbers… Or can they 🤔

this 1.2 billion in savings, is that the extra amount the public will pay for care, thise people paying 200 more? Seems unlikely. Will it be that fewer people go for medical treatment? Is that saving money? Maybe they jjst wait till the problem is worse and cannot be ignored. Then it will cost the health care system more to treat. For what it is worth i take the 2500 level.

So anyone who was already wondering whether they could afford a visit to their family doctor will now have to come up with an extra 200 francs before their insurance finally kicks in…

No matter how this is being spun, this is a tax on the chronically ill and poor – it doesn’t save us money, it just shifts the problem to next year as early diagnosis and treatment will be increasingly avoided

This will also have a net negative impact on the swiss healthcare industry as we will absolutely have an increase in chronically sick people because people will avoid going to the Hausarzt early to get that lump looked at… treating late stage cancer costs a lot more than identifying it early. Healthcare should not be profit driven, Swiss society benefits by having a healthy population.

We will 100% pay for it anyway, this is how insurance works. But at least short-term profits will stay inflated and that will executive bonuses fat and keeps investor money safe as they profit from our illness.

But it’s nice to balance the budget today… our kids can pay for the rising chronic illness layer thorough their insurance premiums
