Must be absolutely rampant to drive without insurance here!

Watched one being towed recently for exactly this. Respectable looking lady in a very tidy ’18 car.
Just down the road from me too. If it becomes a regular thing it’ll be tempting to get a camera and mic and start interviewing the driver as their car gets loaded onto the truck. It’d make an interesting youtube channel.

Doing more to catch people who driving without insurance is a good start, but now it’s time to do the really important bit, which is of course addressing the reasons people are driving uninsured in the fist place.
Only looking at the enforcement and punishment side is just treating the symptoms.

>According to the report, by the end of last year details for 3,471,083 vehicles and 5,629,873 drivers were being updated and passed to gardaí daily.
How do we have 5.6m drivers when the entire population is 5.1m and no one under 17 can be a driver?

Does that mean more people are driving uninsured or that guards are getting the finger out?

It’s almost like when there’s no real consequences for criminal behaviour the crime figures rise.. strange one that.
