Whole of Europe should follow, can’t imagine a European who hasn’t expressed something for the orange rapist krasnov.
I’m thinking about the french citizen they detained at first hand.

Smart idea honestly. I hope this isn’t the last country to issue the same warning.
It legitimately doesn’t seem like peoples from the rest of the world are safe and valued here in the first place, especially if they don’t speak English.
Edit: even keeping your citizens notified is necessary. The US is a problem, in every way, shape, and form.

First the UK, now Germany. When the civilized world writes “Here be dragons” on a major part of the world map, pay attention.

I am a German dual national and I wanted to visit my father. I have cancelled that idea as I do not feel like I would be safe entering the country.

Love this! It’s so dangerous in America right now. Take it from an American, it’s literally a third world country at this point. We are so oppressed. Please, don’t ever come here. You aren’t safe.

Is it actually a travel warning this time, or have they just updated their travel advice and Newsweek is being clickbaity again – like they did with the UK earlier today?

Countries issues travel advisories all the time. Look at the map of the USA to the rest of the world. Germany and Britain and China are all level two compare to other countries that are level one. My company recently have been telling female employees that travel to Europe to be extra careful if they have to go out at certain times and to certain places given how rampant crime is in certain countries

If America doesn’t want tourists, can’t the border officials be instructed just to throw water balloons at people like they do in Barcelona, instead of deeply scaring guests mentally by unnecessarily banging them up in detention centers. 😉

Just rope off the entire country for the next 4 years. I think Trump needs a timeout.

No, we did not. It’s only an updated “Reisehinweis”, (travel advice), not a “Reisewarnung” (travel warning).

How many times again. This is NOT a travel warning. It should be one, but it’s not. Stop the attention grabbing fake news headlines

I mean, yeah. When the man got denied entry or whatever because he was critical of trump, then it is serious on the level of turkey.
Though, if he wrote something like “trump should be murdered”. Then the terrorism suspicion may hold water. I mean, many other countries take seriously such communication too.

Makes sense. If people get refused entry because of some hurty words on their phone then you’re dealing with an unhinged country where it’s probably safer to simple not travel to.

Starting to feel like 1970’s Soviet Union or East Germany little by little, luckily I live in New Mexico but, we are missing 48 people in the past couple of weeks, no word where they are, families are pretty worried. Human rights etc. we should have a right for a phone call but even that seems to have disappeared. After 45 years here, I’m ready to move back to Finland.

It’s comical how little leverage western Europe has over the US. Telling Europe to pay their fair share in NATO fees and increase their defense spending results in them acting like children.
I’m beginning to think that these NATO countries actually cannot afford to increase defense spending. It’s almost like the US military is subsidizing Europe’s giant social programs. Hmmm.

In the text:”But they also stressed that this change does *not count as an official travel warning.*”
Do people even read past the headline these days? I’m blaming Newsweek too because the title is literally incorrect.
I wish it was a travel warning but it isn’t (yet). For now, it’s an advise to exercise caution.
