If *only* it was about incentive, because helping Ukraine is just benefit after benefit as far as US national interests are concerned. They turned on Ukraine because the people on TV told them to, and the people on TV are bought off and/or ideological kin to the Russian fascists. Simple as that.
I’m sorry but this was true for Biden too. He had plenty of options to kill russian oil exports and he chose not to out of the fear of rising fuel prices. In fact, this image is from [Late August, 2022](https://buffalonews.com/opinion/hands-on-wisconsin-tony-evers-stays-busy-with-vetoes/article_826ea353-0f6b-5d1e-9271-583b191c1503.html) so that tells something. And please don’t get me wrong, Biden was roughly billion times better then Trump but they both are guilty of the same sin.
Oh, how the war would be in different state now if both USA and EU had actually done what they could.
Except the oil prices actually decreased due to the oil cap and Ukraine’s targeting of Russian oil refineries. The US was getting their best deals out of the war. They got rid of their old hardware for free. They got Europeans buying their defense exports and using their services… They had a great chance to get all the rare earth minerals they need.
It would be an understatement to say the US shot itself in the leg with Trump. They basically blew their whole torso off.
Remember folks, if everything the US has sent to Ukraine is a loan to be paid back with an extortionate mineral deal, then they provided $0 in aid.
Gas prices are actually at the lowest level since the war started
Pushing gas prices down would be the best thing that could happen for Ukraine. The lower gas prices are, the more money the Russian economy loses. The US needs to open the pumps and get Saudi Arabia to do the same.
As an American, I am offended by this cartoon. Not because it’s petty but because is pretty true.
