Sometimes democracy means voting with your feet.

Well done, Turkey. Keep it up.

I think using that name to refer to Turkey is what the dictator wants. I’ve read Turkish people against that. Even though it might be partly good the change, the fact is still that it’s a dictators desire.

    3. Please note that literally every way of public transportation to the area halted by the government today. Not only that, every important road going there blocked by the police as well. You can’t get there without walking more than an hour.

Awesome. This is what I feel the Americans should be doing right now, in proportional numbers.

Protests have erupted across Turkey in response to the recent arrest of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, a prominent opposition figure and potential challenger to President Erdoğan.

Its only the beginning; the [protests](https://www.reddit.com/r/Turkey/s/wn3vlw20Ay) are taking place in many cities in Turkey currently, even some AKP dominated areas in elections. We’ll succeed together hopefully, keep protesting and fight against a dictator who ruined many lives of his own people with his corrupt regime.

If Erdoğan ever falls it will happen now, or we’ll continue to live under his dictatorship till he dies in his comfy bed without ever paying for the shit storm he caused. Fuck around and find out.

By jailing his top rival, it proves that he’s scared of losing his power. Keep it up Turks.

Everybody in Turkey be posting other protests around the world, like Serbia, saying government should resign. It is just wishful thinking.

If you want Turkish government to resign or want your protests to mean something, than you need more than 5.000.000 people in the Istanbul squares protesting for 3-4 months; THAN MAYBE YOU HAVE A CHANCE why? Let’s see.

Protests and meetings are tiny. In Saraçhane, even at its busiest, there are around 50,000 people according to the area calculation. Why do we keep talking about a protest of 50 thousand people in a city of 20 million as if it were such a big feat?

There were days when there were more than 300 thousand people in Belgrade, where there were 1.5 million people; and the protests continued day and night for 4 months without interruption. STILL VUCIC DID NOT RESIGN!

I am sure that after 1 week, people in our country will say, okay, it is enough, I can’t go out and tire myself.

For example, there were many students in Belgrade, why? They are young, they can mobilize quickly and most importantly, they don’t have anything to do (they don’t really have anything to do, that is to say, the unemployed people continued the protests as if they were full-time employees for 3-4 months instead of going to work).

What happened? Their government resigned after 4 months, but I am telling you, this crowd of 40-50 thousand people wouldn’t last even 4 weeks in our country.
