It would be dumb idea to let Chinese in. They wouldn’t be there for “peacekeeping” as their actual mission

China is on China’s side. It was the largest investor in Ukraine and the biggest buyer of Ukrainian weapons and agricultural products. Historically, it’s not very fond of Russia.

This isn’t about peace but rather about making the U.S. look bad. Joining a peacekeeping force could amplify the narrative of China stepping in as a “responsible global power” while the U.S., sidelined by Trump’s reluctance to commit troops or guarantees, appears disengaged or ineffective. There’s also an argument that China’s interest might also be about securing influence in a post-conflict Ukraine or countering European sway, not just dunking on the U.S.

Russia’s openness to “neutral” countries like China in peacekeeping—while rejecting NATO—could give Beijing a foothold in a region where it’s historically had little presence. That’s less about embarrassing the U.S. and more about China flexing its own muscles.

Really unlikely Ukraine/Europe/US would accept Chinese troops, “peacekeepers” or not, in Ukraine-controlled territory unless they are ok with a permanent Chinese military presence in Europe, a rare opportunity that China would totally embrace.

I think China wants in to get a chance to look at all the western military gear that is floating around in Ukraine

This would make US look so bad.

I think it will be EU&China which finally negotiate peace together with Ukraine of . This “US wants to dictate war & peace with Russia over everyone else” seems to be a short road for so many reasons. I dont think it is gonna happen.

At this point, we all know China is only on China’s side but at least they are not unpredictable like US. I dont think they are friends to anyone. But their presence as peacekeepers would have weight. I dont think Putin would dare to defy violating peace if it risks Chinese lives. Russia would not exist without China at this point.

They could be deployed on ruzzian side of the border to ensure no action against peace coming from there.

China needs room to grow. Russia has massive amounts of land. Weakening Russia is the logical step.

Imagine if the Chinese eventually drove out the Russians. That would be the greatest embarrassment for the Americans in their entire history.

China is difficult because we can’t tell them “no” but at the same time peacekeepers who will never report ceasefire violations from Russia so more a pain than anything. It’s the kind of thing where we should try to decline while arguing it’s to manage the US’s feelings, just to see what China says honestly.
