      I’m very concerned at the British public’s attitude toward Putin now. Countless times I’ve had to counter the assumption that “at least things would work again if he were in charge”. He can’t even provide sanitation, hot water and heating for his own nation, let alone Europe as well.

      I think it’s the Trump effect. They admire Trump, who says he counts Putin as a friend, so he must be OK.

      How come an obvious Kremlin agent becomes the POTUS and NOBODY is doing ANYTHING about it? For all my life the US stood as a pillar of democracy, from the Cold War throughout all the transformations the world went through, and it was a power to rely upon, not flawless, but accountable where it mattered most. Today? Absolutely ridiculous. HOW COME???

      Which is different from a Russian agent. Lower. More humiliating to be a mere asset as opposed to an agent, altho for any other intent or purpose, the two words can be used interchangeably.
