      Ever since Musk bought the platform TwiX, it has developed into a tool of far right propaganda, and has absolutely nothing to do with “freedom of speech” anymore. Organizing a General Strike should meet the threshold of freedom of speech in any society.

      The internet/tech industry is globally by far the most unregulated industry. While it did give society many great and beautiful opportunities to connect, share, and give insights into their lives, letting it remain unregulated for so long has also led to the death of democracy as an unwanted byproduct of it. It is time that the power of what a society regards as a safe and equal space is returned back to the people and society, and taken away from only a select few.

      The EU should draw up legislation that forces such platforms to either conform to EU standards to ensure a open and fair public space, which protects freedom of speech, and excludes far right (or left) extremist voices. Violations should be met with big fines, and as a last resort a complete ban.

      Thousands of youths are injured from brutality of authorities. Streets are full of university students bleeding from their faces, limbs broken. They are shooting people point blank with rubber bullets, there are hundreds of videos circulating clearly showing Police ganging up on unarmed youths, some of them girls barely 18, hitting them with batons nonstop for minutes.

      Situation is very serious in Turkey.

      Government lost every bit of its common sense, they think extreme cruelty will stop people. Crowds are growing larger and angrier, this will not get any better.

      I am not seeing much exposure from world media, Erdoğan needs pressure from every direction, or things will get very bloody.

      I really don’t want Turkey to have its own Tiananmen Square.

      I can feel that it’s inevitable for the army to get dragged in.

      And I hate saying this but I don’t know which way their support will go.

      This is supposed to be Ataturk’s republic.

      I hope every single person who contributed to this regression and descent into dictatorship never finds peace, ever.
