This is perfect timing – I’m off to Amsterdam in April, does anyone ahve any recommendations for which of these three to use? I already have Bolt installed as that’s one I heard of but I’d rather go on a recommendation please.

Gladly, but bolt never has any vehicles near me. They’re facing a real lack of drivers because the government in Croatia actually started cracking down on foreign drivers with phoney drivers licenses.

I always use Bolt when I’m in Lithuania, unfortunately don’t think they’re available in Italy.

I always use Bolt in Azerbaijan ❤️
Edit: and Wolt for food delivery is the best

I ain’t using free now, fuck that… They bought out the very successful service in my country (Beat, even had presence in Latin America). And they just made everything worse. The prices, the tech, the jobs, the name, the brand

Bolt has been the better service here in Bucharest, Romania, for the past 4-5 years anyway.

Our alternative is the cars with the letters “Taxi” on them, but these ones are great, too.

Totalmente a favor de utilizar alternativas europeas frente a otras compañías extranjeras, incluso antes de Trump. PERO. ¿Y Reddit?

      -looksPortuguese alternatives to uber (TVDE)

-see people getting r@ped robbed by the drivers

      -look at uber

      -its expansive for me

-i think i will use the bus

    12. Free now has reliably worked for me in bigger cities within Ireland, Germany and Italy so far

I use whatever is cheapest because I care about my own money that I work hard for.

You can also add sixt as an option.

With sixt (at least in germany) you can also book taxi rides (even days in advance) and pay with the app and sixt is a german company.

Bold is so much cheaper in my area compared to uber BUT the quality of the drivers is so bad. Borderline dangerous.

    16. SaraHHHBK on

Didn’t even know Cabify was Spanish and I use quite a bit

    17. leaflock7 on

cant say for the bottom two, but I found Bolt to be actually better than Uber and cheaper.
So no reason to use Uber either way

    18. Freenow is appalling. Awful app, completely unreliable, charges a technology fee for technology that doesn’t work very well.

    19. andrasq420 on

hah joke’s on you, our government already banned uber so that their hyena pals can keep on fucking over tourists with 500% prices

    20. HowAmIHere2000 on

Freenow is a scam. They charge more than what their partners charge. Book directly from their taxi partners.

    21. In Sweden there is a gig economy taxi alternative called [Fair](https://fairtaxi.se/) that is owned and operated by a taxi union and taxi companies. The driver gets a bigger cut, taxes are paid here and the profit doesn’t leak to the petro-dollar empire.

Better yet, use one of the established taxi companies (but watch out for the “scam” ones, fares are completely unregulated in Sweden so do your research) as their drivers usually have collective agreements and better worker conditions.
