      Greenland’s outgoing Prime Minister Mute Egede slammed the upcoming visit by U.S. officials including Usha Vance, calling it a “provocation,” and said the government would not meet with them.

      “Until recently, we could trust the Americans, who were our allies and friends, and with whom we enjoyed working closely, but that time is over.”

      Perfect response.

      This is no longer intimidation, by now this is a direct Threat to Greenland. At this point all diplomacy with the US must be terminated.

      keep in mind, the current PM is from the party that doesnt want to pursue independence for the moment but “eventually”, aka the closest thing greenland has to a unionist party, the reaction of other more radical parties is more of pooprtunism in some of their factions although the majority still oppose such advances by the americans

      So tell them not to land their damn plane? What are you talking about? Doesn’t Greenland have the legal right to tell somebody they can’t land in their airspace? Tell the American planes not the land and if they do you pull in police so they have to stay on their plane and they can’t go anywhere else, this is stupid, take a damn stand!

      I don’t understand, why don’t they (Greenland) just not receive them? Like don’t send any government delegates to the airport or anything.

      They should just let them land and have them wait in an office for a day or two only to send them off with 2 dozen eggs each.

      They should troll the shit out of them:

      – have some random Uber driver pick them up from the airport, with a misspelled name sign;

      – drop them off at the cheapest hostel, put them up in the common shared dorm, in bunk beds;

      – “The common showers are down the hall next to the common toilets, the communal kitchen is downstairs, the supermarket is just down the road.”

      – “We have lockers for your valuables for kr100 a day. You can rent a bike for kr200 a day, which also gives you free entry for the Native Heritage Museum.”

      – “We also exchange money, the rates are available online, just scan this QR-code. We hope you enjoy your stay.”
