    1. This is for all those claiming that “People want more national sovereignty”. Um, **you** and some other people want that, but you don’t speak for all. Besides, the people in the EP are directly elected through national elections, so it is an absolutely democratic body.

    2. The European Parliament needs to have the right of initiative, just like national parliaments do.

    3. If we have to have some more federalization (it’s, to me a bad idea and thus a huge IF) yes, the Parliament needs to be the main source of legitimacy since it’s the only one elected by the citizens among the EU institutions.

      Defence should be an EU competence. States are fundamentally unfit to protect European citizens.

      The EP has the authorization of the European population that the EC never had. And never will have.
