Berkay Gezgin, who coined the slogan **”Everything will be beautiful”** during the **2019 Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) elections**, was arrested while participating in protests at **Saraçhane**.

# Last Words Before Arrest: “Do not let them forget me”

His lawyer, **Cemil Çiçek**, announced the arrest on social media, stating:

*”My client, Berkay Gezgin, the creator of the slogan ‘Everything will be beautiful,’ has unfortunately been arrested. A 22-year-old young man has been imprisoned. His last words were: ‘Please, do not let them forget me!’ We will never forget, and we will never let them forget! No matter what, everything will be beautiful!”*

# “A Terrifying Scene”

Before his arrest, **Berkay Gezgin** made the following statement:

*”This trial is political. No matter what decision is made, we are innocent. We are being held here unlawfully. The Turkish youth who love their country and fight for their rights at the age of 21-22 are being faced with imprisonment. The situation we are witnessing is both ridiculous and terrifying. Everything will be beautiful—but only if we continue to fight. If we don’t, it won’t happen.”*
