      Summary:

Recent revelations from a leaked Signal chat among high-ranking Trump administration officials have exposed deep disdain for Europe, with comments labeling Europeans as “geopolitical parasites.” Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth expressed frustration over perceived European “freeloading” regarding a planned U.S. strike on Yemen. Stephen Miller suggested Europe should compensate the U.S. for its military efforts.

The leak has caused outrage in Europe, where officials noted they were merely informed of the operation, not consulted. The casual discussion of sensitive military details on an unsecured messaging app raised security concerns about potential foreign surveillance.

This incident adds to a series of tensions, including U.S. demands for higher European defense spending, threats of tariffs, and controversial remarks about European values. Analysts argue this reflects a broader U.S. strategy to distance itself from Europe. European leaders are now questioning the future of the transatlantic alliance and accelerating efforts to strengthen military independence.

Despite efforts to maintain ties, the growing hostility suggests the U.S.-Europe relationship may be undergoing a fundamental shift.

Oh and Trump has been called an angel, his most excellency and a great man by Europe too.

I’m surprised he had Macron as the first guest. He was the harshest and first leader to celebrate Trump’s defeat in 2021.

Seriously, move on and understand there’s insults flying everywhere from both sides. We don’t live in an era of gentry, gentlemanship or diplomacy anymore – that goes for Europe and the US.

I’m pretty sure that European leaders call the US much worse names in their own message groups, and rightly so.

    4. I mean it’s not exactly behind your back. Pretty much everyone here in the states views most Europeans as parasites and defenseless freeloaders.

It is pathetic to keep f35 contract for Poland and Germany

It’s funny that anyone finds this surprising or unexpected considering the expectations placed on America by Europe.

Well, guess what the whole world is calling them. “Moronic incompetent idiots”.

Lets be real here, Trump in a way is right. We can’t even get a European army without 10+ years of talking about when the talks should start, we had weirdo’s in EU countries who where close to just dismenteling the army completely. And a lot of our big European tech companies like Nokia and Philips are now on shambles.

Its time we need an leader who is gonna scream “from now on, its going to be Europe first” (without the racism and bigotry obviously) we should build European nuclear weapons and an army that would rival the US army and that would fart all over Russia if it wanted to. We need a big tech industry and industries that are flat out better than anything the US could muster up. For god sake we have more people in Europe and have the wealth of the US.

And most of all, if the US dares to critisise our nuclear weapon program we put tarrifs on American products to shut them up.

Dear Europe, just know that every accusation of others by this administration is a self-identifying disclosure of its own sins.

    10. Like everybody isn’t already shit-talking each other to high heaven behind closed doors.

    11. It’s not like the European nations aren’t deploying warships and aircraft in the area or carrying out anti piracy patrols.

Maybe the UK should stop doing drug interdiction parltrolling in the Gulf of MEXICO until we are paid for that? Obviously, still do that work to support our Carribean friends and provide disaster relief.

It’s one thing being insulting to your supposed friends and allies.

It’s another altogether to demonstrate such breathtaking lack of understanding of the world. Have these thick fuckers never read a history book? Never heard of the Suez crisis?

    13. superfebs on

Well, being insulted by those people is kind of a compliment actually ☀️

    14. The USA is no longer a friendly ally of the EU, Britain and Canada

Dear Europe, most of the United States behind you and support you. These imbeciles do not speak for 2/3’s of the country. Ughh…this timeline with these white nationalists in charge is extremely exhausting

    17. We are pathetic.

      We let neighbours threaten us.

We let people who don’t share our values come and shit all over our societies.

We let supposed friends extract as much value from us as possible all the while calling us freeloaders.

All in the name of trying to be better. Well, the world is not better and staying this course will see us trampled.

Enough is enough, I say no more falling back, this far, no farther.

You want old Europe? You’ve got it.
