He’s not wrong.
No one has ruled Belarus other than him and the country hasn’t collapsed yet such as other European nations.
If one of his critics or opponents were to take over, they wouldn’t know where to start.
He knows the country inside and out because he built it.
He’s telling the truth, Belarusians have no future under him. Belarus has no future.

Belarus moved way past authoritarian into full on dictatorship with a solid dose of totalitarian ages ago.

Interestingly enough, the EU created a Lukashenko in Serbia (and to this day actively supports him) but disapproves of the Lukashenko in Belarus.
Democratic values are a small price to pay when the future of the German car industry and lithium sourcing is at stake.
