Falcons F-16 Fighter dell’Aeronautica ucraina. L’ultimo aereo ha una buona quantità di fuliggine attorno al cannone rotante a sei barili Vulkan M61A1, che indica il suo coinvolgimento attivo nella distruzione di Shahed UAVS

What is the massive missle that looks like a telegraph pole… Actually its just the perspective
I wonder if there could be specifically designed gun pods or jamming pods to bring down drones more effectively and less expensively than 20mm cannon rounds. I think there was another story of Ukraine using a prop plane and shotguns like early WW1 style shooting.
The last one is like a kid that ate all the cookies.
The need here is apparent for a drone of quite large size, a low cost engine, subsonic and which has an autocannon on the centre line and some radar or seeking tech. And we need hundreds of them but this should be very economical for dealing with slow moving threats.
We don’t need a six barrel gun, a revolver single barrel design which precedes this would be lighter and possibly more accurate. The British developed the ADEN cannon from the German Mauser.
It’s basically the same gun but with one barrel.
The Liutyi UAV might form the basis of such a design but with retractable landing gear. It would not be too difficult to boost engines with turbos or superchargers to get performance up, if they don’t use already.
I’m so glad to see these in action! Slava Ukraini ❤️🇺🇦❤️
To sad that they only can be used hunting shaheeds
Needing out a bit on recognition here..
The one with soot around the gun is probably one of the birds donated by the Netherlands, it has the longer fairing for a drogue chute at the tail like the Norwegian and Dutch planes but lacks the port side nighttime identification searchlight that Norwegian and Danish F-16 have.
The plane nearest to the camera has the searchlight, but not the drogue chute, so that one is ex-Danish.
If you ever see one with the small round searchlight on the left side, forward of and below the cockpit, combined with the drogue chute tail, then that would be a Norwegian model.
Working on a Ukrainian F-16 1/48 scale model. Pretty sure I’m going to weather it to look like the UAV slaughter machine in the background there.
Beautiful
Maybe there is an obvious answer, but what is the advantage of having 3 very expensive, fast flying airplanes so close to each others ? Of course it is different flying from what Patrouille Francaise did today, but that was 2 airplanes flying too close.
