Why would the government even begin to care? This has been a consecutive policy failure on the part of governments over a decade now and there will never be democratic accountability on the matter.
All that leaves behind is the ongoing charade to pretend they or their voters care which to all intents and purposes only serves as a mass societal gaslighting. The ugly truth is there for all to see, Eoghan Murphy even seems to have validated it with his comments on his time as housing minister.
