It’s probably got engine problems and is burning oil, that’s what that looks like. It’s also on temp plates. Maybe to go to the workshop?

That turbocharger is about to fail causing a very very expensive repair.

    4. Am i the only one seeing the wee bit of irony in the car being under the Flensburg sign ^^

    5. Police can demand an early inspection (TÜV/HU) when they suspect thar a car is not within legal limits, in this case for pollution. So if police notice this, the car‘s owner is in trouble.

To have an engine failure is per se not illegal. I assume its a worn out engine that burns also a lot of engine oil. German police can shut down the ride as there might be concerns about a potential threat to environment if it also leaks oil etc. However, probably the car will fail the next mandatory Abgasuntersuchung and will be listed afterwards on ebay kleinanzeigen as “Für Bastler kein Problem” 🙂 [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Untersuchung_des_Motormanagements_und_Abgasreinigungssystems](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Untersuchung_des_Motormanagements_und_Abgasreinigungssystems)

    8. No, taking pictures with your smart phone while operating a vehicle is definitely not legal in Germany.

So yeah, looks like someone either didn’t know or didn’t care that his/her car was either burning oil or water like crazy. Certainly on the edge of a catastrophic engine failure. I guess you could blame the driver on environmental laws for spilling oil on the highway – maybe for making it more difficult to see, but I guess in reality, if this car does not pass by a policecar, nothing will happen here.

The car seems to be on a short-term licence, so I guess the drivers knows the problem and tries to get the car sold somewhere – or bought it to fix it him/herself?

The Dieselpartikelfilter could regenerate. The could lead to this kind of smoke.

In Germay we say „kümmer dich um deinen eigenen Dreck“

    12. With the yellow side plate it looks like the car is from Portugal, not sure about the regulations there
