È questa la bandiera preindipendenza? Perché il sole è stato rimosso da questa bandiera, che alla fine è diventata la bandiera nazionale della Lettonia? O la bandiera corrente è un design completamente diverso?

Kinda. Latvian flag (the way it looks now) is described in 13th century tales. Then, every time we lost our independence, the flag as a symbol was forbidden. But during those times at the protests and to unite Latvians several look alike flags were used. Above is an example of that
