So about 7.8% of all eviction notices.

But there are half a million. Rental properties(2022 cenus) so it’s a minority of evictions, and a tiny % of the overall rental stock.

So to me it seems like this issue has been way over blown. It’s gotten massive news attention over the years, but it’s extremely rare.

We’re having huge trouble now trying to rescind the rent increase cap.

It caused untold damage to the rental market, as was predicted by 90% of economists.

Now we have to listen to this claptrap.

You really can’t have no fault eviction ban on privately owned properties without taking them off the rental market entirely – maybe with big landlords with multiple properties but you’ve people who had to go abroad for a year or two with work who want their property back to live in when they move back or couples who both owned properties who moved in together and it didn’t work out who no longer want to rent their home.
