It’s amazing how many Americans just follow in the fascist goosestep. And American soldiers can claim they would not attack allies, like Greenland and Canada, but I bet most of them would just follow orders. Make America Go Away.

What an asshole. Seriously, he and everyone that supports him is a piece of shit. Zero exceptions

I’m going to throw away my bingo card now.. Definitely did not have “War with Denmark” on it

    4. ActualDW on

Why not? Europe gave Crimea to Putin…may as well give something to an actual ally, too…

    5. SpeakerConfident4363 on

What amazes me is that there are no republicans trying to sabotage Trumps madness in order to preserve whatever little republic the US will have left if it decides to become bellicous with its actual allies.

    6. Single-Award2463 on

How many times has America actually took control of a country through military force?

Failed in Vietnam, got halfway there in Korea. Had to leave Afghanistan.

    7. NoEngineering3321 on

With allies like that, who needs enemies.
He will literally destroy everything in less than 4 years

    8. Force would end NATO completely and any interaction between NATO countries and America.

What is incredible, is not that trump and his cabinet make these threats, it’s the american people not being in the streets by the millions the next day. We can complain about trump, vance and the other idiots all we want but it’s the american people who don’t give a fuck, even some of those who didn’t voted for trump and hate him. If the president of my country said half of these threats, his ass would be flying off the earth in the next 2-3 days.

I think we could win a war against Denmark in probably a month. Heavy air bombardment followed by a navy blockade of Greenland and Denmark. Within a week, a ground invasion of Greenland should allow us to have a total control of 60 percent of the country and almost 90 percent of the population. This can help stage the invasion of Denmark, leading to the occupation of Copenhagen. At that point, they will surrender and become a conquered nation.

Seems weird that one man with an untreated mental illness and an 88 IQ should be allowed to threaten the lives of hundreds of millions of people.

    12. ThinNeighborhood2276 on

That’s a concerning escalation. What are the potential international repercussions of such a statement?

Ok mister war president. Good luck with that Nobel Peace Prize handed out by a Scandinavian country.

Re enactment of Grenada military action ? Greenland is part of NATO . Article 5 action in response to USA ?

IN ANY OTHER COUNTRY the unrest would have started with democrat senators being blocked from entering in the department of education.
America is done system failed and even worse people failed. Pathetic display

    16. whyamihere2473527 on

Why do they continue to let US operate a base there.

    17. This doesn’t make too much sense. The hypothetical benefit they gain from controlling a place like Greenland (which was already fine with the US having as many bases there as they wanted) cannot outweigh the enormous consequences that would have for US international relations for decades to come.

Even if we ignore the moral argument and look at it from an exclusively economic perspective, it’s just completely absurd. The US is massively dependent on foreign trade. If that ends, they are completely and utterly fucked.

    18. Sufficient-Bowl8771 on

I really do not know what to do against this.

The core problem is: Preparing for the defense of the invasion, by stationing assets in Greenland for example or closing the US base, could be seen as a grounds for invasion. Not preparing for the invasion, would invite the invasion.

The EU as a whole could defend Greenland. But is it worth it for any side? Would the US like to have its forces in Europe whiped out in response? I really do not know how to react to this.

    19. HatunaPatata on

He has been on this for too long it’s very hard not to take it seriously at this point, but then again, this sounds too ridiculous to be taken seriously. I honestly don’t know what to make of it.

    20. Slow_Stable3172 on

America would get spanked. Her entire defense engineering base is composed of foreign nationals. If their home country were attacked they’d either defect or sabotage.

This WWE administration isn’t going to do shit. It’s theatre, and the main character is one hell of an actor.

    21. SirDigbyridesagain on

How is this not resulting in the complete political isolation of the USA?

    22. throwaway-118470 on

An invasion of an ally would be the culmination point of a monumental number of failures with our government, and I use failure in the sense of “intentional flouting of the law because power.”

Everyone in American government, including the President and his Cabinet, swears an oath to the Constitution, so the initial failure would be in the Executive Branch. We have seen this failure play out probably thousands of times already with this regime. Congress, the most immediate and natural check on the executive, is supplicant and unwilling to exercise its authority in any meaningful way. The judiciary’s failure happened over the course of years, perhaps most memorably with the recent Presidential immunity “decision,” but at least federal judges are all initially holding Trump to the law at this point. The voters who elected a famously corrupt, doltish, convicted felon, who also happens to not respect national security secrets, to a second term as President reflects the ultimate failure of an intentionally hollowed out American education system, which is good for shaping and rewarding cutting-edge minds and the mental workers to help reach their goals but leaves the rest of the country vulnerable to emotional manipulation through intentional lies broadcast on the national airwaves. This also points to the failure of the media. The failure of Republican states to actively challenge this regime is reflective of the President’s hold on their elected officials through this absolutely toxic public disinformation campaign.

We in the real world must suffer the devastating consequences of this entire infrastructure of catastrophic failures, and I fear it will only end with violent conflict when people have had enough of the tyrannical American oligarchs driving all of this.

I am asking people is Trump lying?

      Or

Will our military follow unlawful orders?

My bingo card says Trump is lying, god I hope so, this is outlandish. Vance using signal was treasonous smh this coup on the USA is terrifying.

    24. TGAPKosm on

I mean… can we just not invade Greenland? What did they ever do? Craziness in this place.

    25. weggooi12334 on

I think the play will be to attack Greenland, forcing European troops on the west front so Russia can attack the rest of Europe.

    26. VexedCanadian84 on

this is how Trump negotiates. he tries to flatter people to get what he wants. When he doesn’t get it, his threats escalate.

as a businessman, he usually backed off when he knew he wasn’t going to win / going to lose money and power.

there’s nothing stopping him right now

I don’t know why Vance and Trump’s cabinet get rid of Trump right now? they would be viewed as heroes. might even get Vance a win in 2028

    27. Jackie_Gan on

Yeah Trump isn’t going to try to deploy military force to take Greenland. He would also trigger article 5. Muppet

What is this headline?! What scolding? That video was scolding?

The entire world order has come down to a game of telephone? We are so cooked. The leader of the most powerful country has the brain of a middle school bully and all of the information space on the planet is there to convince him that he is being picked on. What a combo

    29. Intelligent_Name_795 on

My primary blame lies with the GOP who refused to impeach Trump over January 6th.

The same people who ran for their lives later decided that the situation was fine.

It is incumbent upon European powers to deliberate the potential utility of military personnel within the current geopolitical context.

    31. RapidoGoldenboy_75 on

Didn’t the US Army, Navy and Airforce take some kind of oath to counter such decisions to attack/invade an ally not attacking the USA?

    32. What happens if he does invade. Are the rest of the world going to continue just sitting back and letting this tango faced lunatic do whatever he wants?

    33. polygenic_score on

If he gave the order for 10000 troops deployed to Greenland would it be illegal?

    34. Typingdude3 on

I don’t think Greenland would put up much of a defense and the EU can’t even agree on how to fund Ukraine let alone take on America. Until Europe spends the money to create a superpower level armed force, the US, China and Russia will do as they please. Letters and scolding from EU leaders does nothing but make clickbait Reddit headlines.
