The article discusses a demand from the U.S. government directed at Danish companies. The U.S. Embassy has sent letters to several Danish firms requiring them to sign a declaration stating that they do not have diversity programs that violate American anti-discrimination laws. This move is part of President Trump’s broader campaign against corporate diversity initiatives, which he views as a threat to American values.
The article highlights the confusion and frustration among Danish businesses, as the requirements are vaguely worded. Industry associations like Dansk Erhverv and Dansk Industri have criticized the move, advising companies to maintain their diversity values while navigating the new demands carefully. They emphasize the importance of diversity and inclusion for business competitiveness and talent recruitment.

Any you guys ever worked in companies with with US based hr departments and/or clients? Their DEI policies are truly over the top.. I’m not saying they should be dropped altogether, but I can definitely understand the need to curb them a bit and reassess the efficacy and whether all the trainings and inspections and what not are indeed worth while or time wasted.

Couldn’t they just reply the letter politely in a sense that american laws don’t apply in Europe? Or just reply that the american government can prove this by reading the danish laws on behalf of anti-discrimation by themselves? “We comply to our laws, that’s it. Have a nice day!”

Excuse me by why in the fuck would our private companies comply with US values?
They are non-American owned companies, we’re under zero obligation to follow whatever shit they are doing over there.
>In addition, companies must also sign that they do not have special programs that promote diversity, equality and inclusion that violate US law.
Why the fuck do we have to follow US law.

Whether or not you agree with DEI policies, they should still be telling trump to get fucked. We don’t bow to orange baboons.

Honestly I wouldn’t want to comply with US “values” as they are presented in this time and age. They are a bit too reminiscent of something that happened in the 1930’s and into the 1940’s…

That’s when Danish companies should respond with the eloquent and subtle Americanism, “kiss my ass”.

Any embassy personnel involved in sending these missives should be immediately declared unwelcome in the countries they are in and the EU in general, They need to learn they are not viceroys.
