    Tia

If you come to this side, don’t forget to visit the Tenwentinnoonecameout cave. It’s accessible by armed escort through Vratogrizci grapa.

Make sure you check snow conditions and how the huts are open.
A really nice 5-7h hike is with starting point in Ljubelj, then you go to Planina Prevala, then Roblek hut and then to the top of Begunjščica. And for the way down, you go to Zelenica hut and back to Ljubelj. It’s a nice circular path but there will probably still be snow at the top ob Begunjscica. For maps, download mapy.cz and make sure you have offline maps downloaded as well. This one works really nice

    3. If you’re with a car where you stay isn’t really important. Distances are short and you can get to all trailheads easily. Karavanke are great btw, much less crowded then the Julian Alps. You can also choose between more leasuely hikes on the southern, Slovenian side (mountain meadows, woods) and more technically demanding hikes from the Austrian side.

north is usually harder to climb up than south. so depend of how experience you have. i mean obviously i would say stay in Slovenia. bring us the money. and is probably cheeper too. but tbh it doesn’t rly matter. you are fast on the other side of the mountains
