“This is no longer politics — it’s mockery! People are losing their savings, businesses are collapsing, and he smiles and says, ‘you have to take the medicine’? This is cynicism at its highest level! Trade wars launched from behind a desk have real consequences for millions around the world. This isn’t treatment — it’s poison, and everyone is being forced to swallow it except those who prescribed it!”

Trump is showing lead down the global economy’s throat and calls it “medicine”. The americans do have significant experience about lead poisoning, especially poor americans.

    3. > They want to talk but there’s no talk unless they pay us a lot of money on a yearly basis,” Trump said.

      ## extortion
      /ɪkˈstɔːʃn,ɛkˈstɔːʃn/

      *noun: extortion; plural noun: extortions*

The practice of obtaining something, especially money, through force or threats.

Isn’t it easy for someone to say take your medicine when they’re at the golf course without a care in the world?

    5. AnarchiaKapitany on

Trump managed to bankrupt a fucking casino, which is like a money print even if left relatively unattended. Now he’s doing it with multiple countries at once, including his own.

      What a genius.

Trump: *breaks legs with a baseball bat*

Also Trump: Just take your medicine now

      >Trump said he had spoken to leaders from Europe and Asia over the weekend, who hope to convince him to lower tariffs that are as high as 50% and due to take effect this week. “They are coming to the table. They want to talk but there’s no talk unless they pay us a lot of money on a yearly basis,” Trump said.

      >…

      >JP Morgan economists estimate the tariffs will result in full-year US gross domestic product declining by 0.3%, down from an earlier estimate of 1.3% growth, and that the unemployment rate will climb to 5.3% from 4.2% now.

      >The US president spent the weekend in Florida, playing golf and posting a video of his swing to social media on Sunday.

      lol 😀

fuck these guys, seriously. When covid hit, among other things people were arguing “who’s to blame” and whether someone’s to blame at all. Now you know who’s to blame, exactly who. So don’t take it from them, don’t cave in to bullies that intentionally manufacture hardships for you.

Europe should target the Trump supporters, republican states and related industries. Selective targeting by tariffs is the sure way of getting results. He cannot do anything about that.

Well looking at the Dow Jones that’s not medicine but poison.

Since his idea of medicine is injecting disinfectant…yeah seems about right

One of the few good things about being young rn is that (if) you can afford to buy shares right now for cheap and wait out the storm.

If you’re not retiring for a few decades and your job is relatively safe, now is a very good time to be investing.

Can someone please get him some medicine too? Pills to keep him from rambling like some idiot, and preferably a straightjacket as well?

Does anyone understand why European defense equities are selling off worse than the rest of the market?

I wouldn’t think those are particularly tariff exposed, and their revenues should be relatively insulated from the macro economy and instead more policy-based.

Trump is healing a patient but we are talking about US healthcare healing

    15. Naduhan_Sum on

Nobody wanted this, but we‘re watching America‘s collapse live thanks to Trump.

    16. Any-Feature-4057 on

Looks like every single world leaders must come and bow to Trump.

    17. Why is he so confident that the US will profit out off all of this? I understand how he thinks that tariffs work, but this will take many years and more important a trustworthy US political system. No one invests in a market where the government breaks laws and makes up new things every day.
All he does is isolating the US in the long term.

And another thing: Even if he manages to re industrialize the US who is working there for 8$ an hour to be competitive to china etc.? Will his MAGA follower work in a nike shoe factory for the bare minimum? Or will his citizens pay 3OO$ for a pair of sneakers?

    18. I don’t think he realises that Asia and Europe are ahead of the US in timezones… we’ll see how much “winning” there will be on Dow Jones and similar later today

    19. FangGore on

True. Sometimes you need to take your medicine, but he is shoving oral pills up everyone’s asses.

    20. I’m not an economy expert at all. I’m proud of being European…. I’ve started thinking that there at least one man that is winning during this “money war”…it’s the only American that is happy about this….it’s Trump! I’m not sure he loves Us people, taking care of the ones that are not rich, the ones that every single day should wake up and start working to sustain themselves and their families. Time will tell if I’m wrong or what. Meanwhile we should all remember that there are wars made using weapons and other wars that are made using money…..

Why hasn’t the EU and other countries prepared a conspiracy to “get rid” (😉) of Trump is beyond me.

    23. hes either dumb as fuck or overconfident in his personal safety

    24. Ironic that he’s speaking about having to take medicine when he’s surrounded by antivax people.

    25. Another reason why we should not allow billionaires to run in elections

    26. neckbeardsarewin on

Didnt know he was a MD.
i also expect patient doctor confidentiality. Like that talk should happen in private. Not be broadcast globaly. Kinda embarrasing and confusing. Or am ihallucinating this beeing said publicly?

Anyways. The economy has been incapable/unwilling to price in negative externalities. Like geopolitics and is therefore crashing. That the president of the USA calls it medicin just confirms the Babels tower story as beeing the global socities current state. Anyways. Hows your day been?

    27. saxonturner on

I bet the odds of him making mid terms are really fucking bad right now, he’s going for the money. Wonder if he will dodge the next bullet that comes his way.

    28. DisastrousOlive89 on

I’m just saying that tyrants have been violently deposed for far less tampering with the fortunes of the oligarchy than Trump has done so far.

    29. allthe_namesaretaken on

And I truly believe that the “medicine” for Trump’s stupidity is a small dosage of metal administered in a body part that I cannot disclose on this site in the interest of adhering to relevant terms and conditions.
