Those 10.000 US troops could be replaced with new european deployments: 2.000 troops from France, 2.000 from Germany, 2.000 from the UK, 2.000 from Italy and 2.000 from Spain.

At the moment we dont know that they would even engage the russians if we get attacked, so pull them. And lose just a little bit more US influence.
Having them there is a false sense of security atm. Eu needs to start drafting our own soldiers to be stationed against russia.
I have no doubt the USA will do this sooner or later. It would fit Trump’s narrative on paying for EU security perfectly.
I feel the only reason it has not happened yet is that there may be some brass in the whitehouse that have so far managed to convince Trump to not do it, or because Trump believes he may be able to use a partial retreat of forces from Europe as a bargaining chip in his ”negotiations” with Russia.

It’s just a gift for Putin. As long as US soldiers are in the baltics and poland, Russia can’t attack as they had to kill American soldiers, what would force the USA for retaliation. If they withdraw their soldiers there, Putin can attack and the US wouldn’t have to take an active part in this war.

The fact that they’re thinking to pull out troops from the East before doing anything about those stationed in Western Europe should tell you something.
The EU should, at minimum, have their replacements ready to step in. And ideally, remove them ourselves. If shit hits the fan, and they are pulled out at the last second with nobody ready to replace them. It will leave many holes in our 1st line of defence.
Leave whole Europe, also Germany. Remember those troops were stationed here for protection to US. Think you gonna need it in future since you’re nit that popular anymore.
