Dopo settimane di forti dichiarazioni e tentativi di diplomazia, la mancanza di chiarezza si sente inquietante.
L’Ucraina aveva accettato un cessate il fuoco e non aveva nulla in cambio. La Russia si era rifiutata di conformarsi. La scorsa settimana, la Russia ha ulteriormente intensificato i suoi attacchi alle città ucraine, uccidendo dozzine di civili, tra cui bambini.
La Casa Bianca, che ha dato la priorità a fermare le uccisioni in Ucraina, è rimasta in particolare muta.
"Non so cosa stia succedendo lì," Il presidente degli Stati Uniti Donald Trump ha detto il 7 aprile, anche se ha aggiunto che lo era "Non è felice … con il bombardamento." Ma finora la Casa Bianca non ha intrapreso alcuna azione concreta per fare pressione sulla Russia in un cessate il fuoco.
Come risultato dell’incertezza estenuante, Persone per le strade di Kiev E quelli in alti armadi affermano di non credere che un cessate il fuoco possa essere raggiunto nel prossimo futuro, né che gli Stati Uniti possano aiutare a portarne uno come aveva promesso.

I don’t think anyone believes a ceasefire is actually possible. Even if it’s declared Russia is not going to respect it.
Mute? Remember that Trump was very angry a few weeks ago at Russia. Today he is very angry at Russia because of their terrorist attacks.
And next week he is so angry at Russia that he will put tariffs on Russian pineapples.
